Lord Ping’an”Bronze Ding

“Lord Ping’an”Bronze Ding is a piece of cultural relic unearthed in 1978 in Guanzhuang Village, Biyang County, Zhumadian City, Henan Province.

The device measures 16 centimeters high,57 centimeters wide.It has a diameter of 75.6 centimeters.

There are four pairs of inscriptions on the outside of the lid and on its body.A notable historian Li Xueqin believed that most of the objects in the tomb were from the state of Qin,so the tomb belonged to a person of Qin.According to the chronology and font on the ding,combined with the handed down literature,he believed that the bronze tripod was a trophy got by Qin in the Unification War.

While according to the relevant historical materials,Li Jiahao,Huang Shengzhang,He Nu and other scholars believed that“Lord Ping’an”Bronze Ding belonged to the State of Wei(Wei Zheng's"Wei")from the aspects of geographical evolution,weight and measure system,and inscriptions.
